That is because, it has no use value outside of trying to be money.

I’ve never really understood this. Some kinds of money are better than other kinds of money (eg gold is better than aluminium) And so if there is a kind of money that is superior to others, then it would be hardly surprising if it were to become popular and desirable. Anything that does a better job on the market and it’s competitors is going to succeed unless governments actively suppress it. And it must surely be obvious that a form of money which is immutable, limited, programmable and transferable (amongst other things) is superior to most and maybe even all other forms of money!
